This site is one that is new to me! But they do sell a good range of NARS products. This week they are having a Private Sale where you can get NARS products for up to 75% off! I was disappointed to find the blushes (best item from NARS) to be sold out already.... Example "Balanced Foundation" normally sells for $41 on sale for $17! Happy Shopping!!!!!

Both Worlds: The Shoe
I was looking for a summer sandal and (among others) this one is my most favorite! You would think it was really difficult to find Large size shoes (I wear 11 or 12) but I am finding that while it takes effort they are out there. The other issue that other people have with me and my heels is that I am to tall to wear heels. Tip: Heels give you more shape and add a wiggle to your walk (in a good way if you master the craft). Are tall girls not allowed to be sexy?
Okay enough life lessons. This shoe was bought on Amazon but it is from Nine West it is currently on sale for $68 was $88. I don't know if this color is still available at Nine West but there was more variety at Amazon.
I plan on wearing them with a variety of printed skirts, dresses and (dare I say) shorts!

The Bra
My next purchase was all set to be the Victorias Secret Bio-Fit 7way Bra. I was all geared up and ready to go when I walked in. In my head: "Well lemme just try it". It turns out that the bra was not all that I had dreamed of. It was very stable and please believe that I tried all the right moves to test its' mobility. It stayed put like no other strapless has......but when I looked at how the cup fit me it was not pleasing. I pressed in at the top while allowing my "side fat" to clutch on for dear life. Hmm. I left the store not very impressed with this magical bra. I still may buy it because of the stick-ability but it is not the end to all of my strapless problems by far!

Fashionista: The Makeover
A friend of mine is reaching a personal mile stone in her life and asked me to be a part of her transformation. I wondered why and figured that it must be because she likes my style. I feel like every woman has to make their own signature style. It can be a mixture of many different things but what works for me may not work on the next DIVA. So off I go to set up the photoshoot, pick out the makeup and design the wardrobe. I started at her closet and later decided (after raping her shoe collection) that I would start from scratch. If you are gonna do a “High Fashion” photoshoot why go with the things in your closet? Right? Well maybe not…..
The day of the shoot I begin to beat her face and she starts complaining.
Me: “don’t be a DIVA”
Her: “I wanna see!”, "This is just to MUCH!"
Of course I let her see after I was done and she complained that it did not look like her. Later after 3 of the 5 wardrobe changes were under way she began complaining about how the clothes did not fit her care free style and she needed other options. Eventually we were able to compromise and find some more playful garments that satisfied us both.
As I am stepping into this field I am realizing the following:
· Always check with the client before finalizing
· Do a trial run (if there is makeup involved)
· Get a CLEAR understanding of what the client wants ( My idea of what she wanted was skewed by what I wanted for her)
I never thought that I would enjoy playing real life doll house but it was absolutely a great experience and some of the pictures will be added to my portfolio.

Teal Semi Smokie Eye
This is an easy way to start learning how to do smokie eye looks. Some people dont know where the crease starts and stops so a good way to work around that is to start from the lashes and work up.
Products:

Naturalista/Fashionista-Trina Turk
This is my first Designer Spotlight!!! I will be doing these from time to time as I become more and more engrossed in specific style options.
I love Trina Turk designs! It is the perfect mix of the California girl (beach bum) in me and the budding Fashion Fiend.
The Situation: I was pressed to find a strapless party dress and with my curvy shape there were only some specific options of which I decided to pass. It was one of those "well let me just try it" moments.
The Purchase: My favorite store was having an insane sale going on and the dress was normally out of my price range. But due to the economy the High End item were not selling! FTW!
The Party: A close friend had her 30th birthday in Baltimore, I was able to show off my new pride and joy.
Here I Am!
The moral of the story is... you make the dress but a good designer can really help make it LOVELY!

Fashionista- Pumps
I have recently purchased my share of pumps from various places and I need to break them in! Not so much the special shoes but the pumps I planned on wearing to work. Now I have been fine with breaking them in the good old fashion way but I wonder if there is an alternate or shorter less painful way to conquer this task. Any suggestions?
